Yes. For swap purposes, frames are pretty much identical from 1973-1980 and 1981-1987.

FWIW the only difference I have seen is that K30 frames are 8" thick while K10/K20 frames are 6" thick.

What all are you changing over?  All the bracketry and suspension or just axles/drivetrain/body?
If you are just swapping bodies and/or axles, there will be no issues.

i have a 79 k20 4x4.needs frame work. im putting a body from 79 1 ton 2wd on it, considering frame change because my forward front leaf hangers are shot and i cant find them, and or attach them riveted correctly. i cant use my 2wd 1 ton frame and i have access to a 73 4x4 frame

Why not just swap over the spring hangers from the K 10 frame, bolt them onto the K 20 frame. Use grade 8 hardware. They don't have to be riveted. In my opinion bolts are better. Semi frames are bolted together and they take allot more torque / abuse than any 3/4, or 1 ton can dish out. I have bolted every cross member and bracket into several Chevy frames and a couple Fords too. They held up just fine.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

I agree, a good Grade 8 bolt will hold just as well as the rivets.  I would just take them off and swap them...

i cant swap spring forward leaf spring hangers because 1 of my frames is a 1 ton 2 wheel drive which has coil springs in the front.my originals are totally wasted.  the 73 k10 frame i have access to is 5 hours from my home ($300)and not worth driving just for hanger parts.anybody know where to get the hangers? i know i can get new ones still but the 1 that holds the radiator support is discontinued.
