I hear ya. I dig that kind of stuff too.

BTW, is that a steel building that you have? I'm trying to collect thoughts and ideas. Was it fairly inexpensive? Looking to build a 30'wide x 40'deep with a 20' x 20' off the left rear side.

Its a 40x40 steel building yes.I got it in 2006 and the total w/ the garage and insulation and a crew to assemble it in 3 days and concrete the total was 32,000. I highly reccomend to go thru olympia steel buildings www.olympiabuildings.com  there located in pennsylvania. We also added 2 skylights and its well worth them oney let me tell you.I like doing this wagon since its really old but i couldnt do this on a daily basis as i am a fanatic to quality and meticulous to detail. But the restomod truck will be taking some time even i have to stretch the build by 1 more year i want this to roll on out of the garage and scare the neighbors letting them all know a new beast has risen from the ashes lol.... ;D

thanks
pat

Thanks Pat. That's a good reference point to start with. Hopefully when the market gets better I'll be able to do something. Rolling around on the driveway is getting harder especially with my joints being effected by the cold now. I need to replace my clutchand rad in my beater and don't look forward to doing it in the cold. Thanks again.

Rob

Frog, it may include ground clearing, excavation, footers and slab(or monolithic) and maybe they pulled the permit. I don't know, we'll see. I'm itching for one bad. It's just hard for my wife to justify. :'(

32,000 was for the permits, the building itself, the crew to assemble it, the concrete, the land clearing, the electrical, the blueprints, the 2 10x10 doors and side entrance door.Because in this town you gotta go thru stiff codes to get it approved cause it needs to withstand hurricane winds.Well here is the result of what 32,000 gets you,

thanks
pat

p.s. and its enough room to put a 2 post lift and the peak of the roof is 14foot ceilings.Plenty of room here. When i moved to florida in 2002 the 1st house we were renting i had my cougar in a 2 car garage and my fathers motorcycle.I said if we buy a house i want a 40x40. Well i stuck to that all these years in 2004 i had a brand new 32x76 foot double wide put on a piece of property we bought. And  in 2006 we refinanced the home just for this reason.I was tired of paying for storage rental fees and the rental place was like 25 miles away.Well i`m very happy with this and also our shop couldnt exceed the square footage of the home  if it did it be considered a business but i couldve gone 50x40 but eh i am very happy with this.

Pat I didnt think of the Hurricane winds here in MD I think ya need a 135lb snow load we have to get permits too .
I am thinking of buying one having it installed (those prices include labor to install) then lay the concrete later if I need it :)

Like Rob above my old bones dont like laying on the driveway in any weather :)

I hear ya frog
My garage in rhode island was a 26x48 but could only fit 3 cars 4 if you were lucky. But in the winter months man if that 112,000 BTU burner wasnt working it was cold. But i am very satisfied with this garage, only real thing i gotta do is repaint the entrance door as its rustig in a spot so i`ll do that in the spring.

thanks

That's awesome. Yours is real close to what i'd like. Just a little taller door for the camper and the dimensions from the earlier post. Part of me would love to just have it all done, the other part(pocket) tells me to do as much of it myself as possible. Looks great thanks

Rob,
its well worth it And the company can build it to your suit.If you want skylights, windows, and so forth.I plan on putting in a exhaust fan cause in the summer it gets hot in the shop so drawing out the hot air will cool it down some.

thanks
