That sounds real good!  nice work!  My dad would be jealous of that car.  It's his favorite muscle car.

Thanks Kenny
its OK for a car i drove to high school and have owned it for almost 20 years now(jeez its been that long?) But your dad would like a big block eliminator i think more then this car i am sure. But the ironic about this car is that it sat in my fathers ex bosses warehouse cause the engine was knocking and it needed floor pans.He wanted 1,000 for it my ol man offered him 800.00 and he took it. I have had alot of offers for it but i cant part with this car. Also they made 2322 convertibles in 1970 in the standard model which is this 1.Out of the 2322 convertibles they made this 1 is documented as 1 of 24 ever built being a factory white on white on white. And theres a guy in his database that collects Vin numbers say your looking for a lost car and you give him the Vin he can help track the car down for you or come to find out if it was stolen or not.But i asked him in all his Vin numbers he has stored and mind you he has over 160,000 Vin numbers for 67-73 cougars i asked him how many do you have thats a factory triple white and his responce NONE YOURS IS THE ONLY 1 and that means its rarer then 1 of 24 it could be the only 1 left in the world thats a factory triple white.

thanks

Thanks chris and 84 chevy  ;D
But this car has that much sentimenatal value to me as i am only the last one left in my high school class that still has his 1st car he ever drove from high school. But itdoesnt stop there. The stepside has some history to it as well.Bu i wont get into that right now. That wooden wagon you seen me restoring will be out the door and see sunlight saturday and outside for good. Its time to get back on that truck and i am picking up the 454 next friday.Question i know i may be in the wrong section asking this but i got all the essentials the heads, intake, carb, crank and possibly a set of headers for it.But now comes the cam and pistions and rods. What is the best combo to go for? I like to use a set of eagle rods and should i go for keith black or trw pistons? Plus whats the best cam that i should go with for that will give great sound and horsepower?I`m noengine expert by any means so please dont laugh i`m more of a bodyman then a engine builder.
thanks

Sorry folks,
nothing real to update on the stepside.ALTHOUGH that wasgon is finally gone!!!! And i`m getting a mirror painted for my 70 so i`ll have that this week on the car and that will just be a good cleaning and that`ll be it for now.But this is what i been doing all day today take a look:

The sides were so bad up to the body line the paint was down to the basecoat.I sanded both sides and the tailgate and gonna use the dupli color truck bed coating.I sanded everything and used a red scratch pad in all the corners ,under the bed sides, and all along the bed ribs.My arms are tired but the good news isi the hard part is just bout done so monday i`m gonna roll that stuff on.Hopefully i`ll have enough left over to do the underside of the stepsides cab.And the end of this month the dodge gets a fresh coat of paint  so all that will be left is the stepside to get paint. All i know is this truck will be done this week and im getting back on the stepside next weekend and get that thing going. Also i`m going to pick up my 454 friday so thats good news there.I`ll shoot some pics of it and the numbers .I was told its a 76 454 so i`m guessing its a 4 bolt main since no other car after 74 had a 454 in it.

thanks

If you haven't bought it yet, I wouldn't use that duplicolor bed liner, I'd use plastikote or herculiner. I used duplicolor on my old truck, and it was thin, not very non-skid, peeled off in sheets like it was rice paper..The plastikote is vastly superior, and the herculiner is a little bit better than the plastikote.

I agree dont use the duplicolor, I used it on one of my trucks and like werewolfx13 said it would peel off in sheets if I put anything back there.

I bet your arms and shoulders were tired! Let us know how it turns out regardless of what you use. Linex is the only thing I've seen used that holds up and had the least amount of fading. I've seen a couple of roll-on apps that held up but still faded to almost grey(still serves it's purpose though). I had the whole outside of my canoe sprayed last year by a place down the road that used a product called "Full Metal Jacket". It's holding up pretty well but has also faded. For that, as long as still seals I don't care. The canoe(aluminum) had a 4" crack in the bottom of it and all the guy did was drill a couple of holes in the crack and let the liner bleed through and coated the inside in that area. It's holding very well. Good luck! :)

Thanks guys for the input.
I just read a review on pirate 4x4.com and wow not many had good things to say about it so i`m gonna go with the herculiner coating instead.I appreciate the fast input as i was gonna do it tomorrow as the weather sucks here today.
thanks again and today its going back and im gonna get the herculiner instead.

Good choice, plastikote is good too, just make sure you get enough coats on. My '83 has a plastikote liner, and a lot has been gouged off, but I've been really hard on it. Herculiner is a little bit more durable and just as repairable as plastikote, its also more than twice the price.

I got the kit, it said to reapply within 24 hours or once its tacky within 1-4 hours, if after the 24 hours it has to be scuff sanded and then reappllied. So i gotta do it this week cause friday i gotta go get my 454 so i dont want the grease to get on this before i coat it.

thanks

Well folks, the dodge bedliner is complete and looks great.I kinda went overbored and did under the tailgate and all the side jambs as well on the tailgate and the bed itself.I used up a entire kit and i did the top of the bedrails as they were faded like you seen in the pics. But i got a hair across my rear or it was because of the full moon.I took the doors off and unbolted the cab and pulled the cab off.I removed that exhaust shield on the pass side under the cab and i`m gonna prep the bottom of the cab this week and do that coating on the bottom of the cab.I also did the inside of the cowl vent and it came out pretty good.Once i get the underside done i`m gonna put it on my dolly and hammer out the bodywork on the cab and put it in the baby poop yellow that the guys on musclecar use.

thanks
pat

p.s. i`m going to get my 454 Friday and possibly mock up the motor and tranny in the rolling chassis and get the tranny crossmember bolted up properly.I`ll take pics of the progress this week.

UPDATE:
i went out and took pics of the stepside and the dodge bed so here they are:
Sorry folks the frame is a bit dusty but i plan on rolling it outside and hosing it down and throwing some blankets over it to keep the dust off for a bit.

And the dodge pics
