The 74 is coming out good with LOTS of work as you obviously know. I am doing a second tailgate now with louvers to match the roll pan also. Kinda like how chicks wear different outfits I can change my tailgate when I feel like a different look  ;D . I'm hoping to have the bed in it's first coat of primer this week with any luck. The Mutt is coming along good too. I have the sending units and pumps ready to go in the tanks for the tbi and the wiring harness about 75% completed. I've got a busy week at work this week but plan on hopefully having some decent updates by the end of the week.

Rollpan modifications are completed.I gotta go pick it up tomorrow.I am also having my last batch of parts powdercoated as well. I got my corvette seats , i gotta do alitlle modifying to the tracks with some flat stock but man are they comfortable.I also got to get some pass side manual seat tracks as the drivers is power and i rather have manual so i`ll put the power seat tracks aside once i get me my corvette sooner or later  ;D

I am going to be honored as this subject is going to exceed 10000 views. I went to OC maryland and had a kickin time.I even visited 1 of the vendor booths and bit the bullett. I bought my wheels for the truck.. There 18x8s in the front and 20x10s in the rear from coys. There the c5 chrome wheels and the tires were 245 40 r 18s in the front 275 40 20s in the rear.Mounted, balanced lug nuts and valve stems and shipped for 2200.00 So today i got 1 of the door skins removed and test fitted the 1 i bought from chris and a real nice fit.I`m gonna go a bit more to the inside of the door and weld up the holes where the rubber boot was connected to and herculiner the inside of the door shell framing then put the skin on.I`m going to take pics shortly of the progress.I also got my core support powdercoated and some other pieces as well back and got the leaf springs back on as well, plus i put the tag back on the dash so the truck is officially a 1980 again lol....... ;D Someone on youtube wants me to videotape a update so since its a long weekend i`ll do that as well. But since all the rain came i gotta do a little cleaning of the front of the house ..

thanks

Sounds good. Sorry I couldn't meet up with you while you were up here. It's a really hectic time of year for us right now plus the added frustration still linguring from being laid off in January. But at least i'm working now. Anyway, can't wait to see more pics or even a video.

Right now the video is downloading and i understand  rob you gotta do what you gotta do.I am going to cool it with my CC till its paid off cause i wasnt going to buy the wheels but i ordered them and may as well go thru it and put em aside knowing their bought and paid for which may hold me up to get the truck painted but we will see...

Hey people.
Today i got the drivers door skin off the door and what a PITA it was.I reccomend doing skins that chris sells as the NOS ones you gotta remove all the support braces that hold the skin on by the upper door post areas. But the pass door is just waiting on some ALL metal and i`m hoping by this weekend the 2 doors will be done as far as bodywork is concerned.. I finished the bodywork on the front stone shield as the stamping leaves these impressions in the metal.SO thats all done and i got my seat tracks for my seat to make them both manual now.Once the doors are done i`m gonna get the hood finished as its about as 2 day affair to do the bodywork and that`ll be it and then the fenders are next as i`m gonna weld up the holes for the wheel well mouldings and the name plate on the top sides..Hoping this month i`ll get alot of the bodywork done and all that`ll be left is the bedsides and the fenders and then off to the paint booth for some priming.. I`m really hoping to have this done and in paint by christmas..But i`ll take some pics friday and show my progress...
thanks
pat

Cool seats! I'm excited to see how they look when they are all bolted in. Make sure to include some good detail photos of how you mount them for us, as well as the power to manual conversion, in a separate thread if necessary. Inquiring minds want to know... And that herculiner looks nice. Good work so far!

Sorry folks bout the bad taping of under the dash n the cab.. I may redo the video and try n bring a droplight to show you all the undersides.Johnnymac thanks man i`m hoping to have the seats done soon and i`ll let you know in pics bout the seats. They actually sit in between the factory holes from the bench, but i got a while back a set of factory buckets and the floor support pieces for the seats and i`m going to use them for the front corner seat tracks on the corvette seats. And modify the seat tracks with some flat stock steel and weld the tracks and make them fit perfectly to the bolt holes in the floor..  Its come a long way and its looking better and better everytime i work on it. I been really thinking of doing a 68-72 chevelle next but right now 1 thing at a time ...
thanks

Haha, that seems to be the central theme throughout this project, making it perfect. I think I'm going to have to agree with you in taking one thing at a time- I can already imagine TWO vehicles completely disassembled in your garage, with a layer of dust 7 inches deep from all the bodywork...hahaha. And it's that kind of attitude that is keeping me from doing ANYTHING to mine, because I know if I start something now it's going to cause a whole chain reaction and I just don't have the resources right now. I might try to finally get some pics of mine up tonight; when I do you'll see what I mean  ::)

Hey everyone,
As i am sitting here choking down what was left of my subway sandwich i figure i throw you guys some pics of the progress i made on the truck. In the past 2 1/2 days i got the lower grille panel done and the 2 doors are finished. I am getting closer to getting that thing in primer. I am figuring next month i`m gonna have it sent to a body shop for priming, blocking and repriming and painting the interior and the firewall..Then have them install the doors that way i can take it home get the motor and tranny in and then assemble the nose and all be left is the bed.But by the end of this month from the cab forward will be done in bodywork...Check out the doors.. Both doors were reskinned the drivers received the NOS and the pass side got the partial skin from chris....
thanks
pat
p.s. i even did some filler work in the door frame area where you probably never see but i was this far may as well go a bit more into it..
