eletric fans

Alright I just got done with the new motor and took it was a test run and when I mashed it down the belts flew off and bent the waterpump shaft and cracked the fan :/ I want to put some eletric fans on there and had a few questions. like should I get a double or single? should I just go to the junk yard and find one the right size? or get a new one?  i got a 350

A good Flex-a-Lite fan (16-18") should do you more than fine for the little 350.  Good prices on Summit too.  Do it right the first time, and never look back.

You should run dual electric fans if you have a/c. I actually have a 91 firebird that donated it's motor and tranny to my 74, and it was originally equipped with a 305 and a/c and has only 1 16" electric fan that I plan on using in my truck.

i have an electrical fan from a 95 lincoln town car from the salvage yard for 30.00 dollars..... fits perfectly and pulls lots of extra air!!!  highly recommended!

Okuma, off the fan subject....what headers are you running? Any mods to the frame? I'm looking at buying some but want starter and oil filter clearance. I've got an 8 qt Moroso pan and 2 qt filter on mine. It's dropped 3/4 and I don't want to see the headers or exhaust hanging down.

single is fine. ive got a jeep liberty fan in mine, about 16 or 17 inches and in the stock shroud. it pulls a lot of air but i really only need it on really hot days.

i have 3 fans for sale all 05+: volvo s60 with a balanced blade, bmw 5-series (19"!), and benz suv.  $40 + shipping each. message me if youre intersted.

79SHORT, I AN RUNNING PROCOMP CERAMIC COATED HEADERS MADE FOR A 1967 CHEVELLE. THEY ARE 3/4 LENGHT. i needed this for ground clearance, you do not see the headers from side view. Now there is absolutly no modifications done to anything! just install regularly. drivers side is very, very close to the frame and does not rub! recommended!

Junkyard fans!! That's what I got for mine, I got one for off a 90's something pontiac, it's like 16" or so, I'm gonna set it up to be a puller. Then I got one off a 86 honda, it's like 12" or so, I'm gonna put it infront and make it a pusher fan. Hope to keep that sucker good and cool.

I have a set of chevelle headers that work on my 87 just had to raise motor on both sides to get them in.lots of clearance around them except around starter where alot of heat sits so I fabricated a 6 " tube that I made  out of a piece of 3" tail pipe.Put it over the front of solinoid and pulled the wires out the front under the motor mount and extended the wires to reach .Keeps the heat away from the wires .They fit fine , I used gas pump bolts as they have 7/16' heads on a 3/8 ' thread/ and most bolts wont fit in beside the headers, holes are yoo close to the pipe.
