Your vacume is fine. When I first looked at it, it looked like the modulator vacume was on the upper passenger side port. At second glance I realized I was wrong and stuck my foot in my mouth.

CAPTKAOS,

You have dang good eyes! No, I'm not using that bolt. I was afraid of drilling and tapping that head. They're OLD--and RARE 041X castings from 1969--and have a TON of machine work in them. I'm still looking for the support brackets that run from the compressor to header bolt (with spacer) and the alternator to header bolt. My problem is I don't want to eliminate my Stage 8 locking bolts and make it look hokey. I might make my own type of support brackets with hopes of making the rest of the system nice and sturdy. Still working on that part. I'll post pics when I get to that stage of the game.

PUSHROD,

My set up routes similar but not the same.  Your pic doesn't have an idler on the passenger side lower bracket.
Here's another shot than I posted before (I think).......

Does anyone know of a nice looking "plug" or "cap" for this hole? I've converted to
a single wire off of the threaded stud on the back and no longer need this plug.

Oh, and YES, I see the brass pipe plug on the water pump and all the others are black anodized. It's only TEMPORARY till I run
the heater hoses. LOL.
CAPTKAOS,
As for using that hole we talked about; If you look at the two unused holes on the front on the water pump-then look to the left (in the pic) to the bolt (directly under the large a/c delete idler)---the old style alternator bracket that bolts to those 3 holes will go right on with custom made spacers and a longer bolt under that pulley (about 6 1/2 to 7 inche bolt). THINKING about whether that would strengthen it up or if it's just overkill.

Here's the part numbers if you need them.
10105267, 10077579 and the spacers are 12490680 and  12490679.
I really haven't looked too hard for them yet. I can at work tomorrow and let you know.

Well CAPTKAOS??? Did you drill ?
My head doesn't have a raised boss in that location or I would've done it. I'd hate to go too far and have extra ventilation !  :(

My buddy told me last night that he thinks he has them, I am going to check when I get off here...
I still haven't drilled them.  I may just mock everything up and go from there..

Thanks for the PN.  I can get them from my Dealership supplier if I have to...

If you ever need wholesale on GM stuff and don't have an account or the hookup, just go to:
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com and punch in the part numbers and you will get close to wholesale, plus shipping and handling from NC. I have found that their prices are VERY close to what I can get for wholesale at the local dealership.

everything looks awesome. i used a similar serpetine set up off of my friends 92 chevy truck and it works great. especially for free. i have not looked up those part #'s for supports you gave but they are probably the same. my set up looks just like the one you have. im in the process of recleaning and repainting engine after sitting for 2 yrs then onto finishing bbodywork.
I own a 84 K5 blazer. It is an 82 2wd chassis with an 84 4wd body. I completely went through entire thing. It has rebuilt 350 w/ 700r4. body is shaved and  5/7drop.air bags are coming soon. it also has 20's in front and 22's in rear.

That pic I put up is of a SBC camaro setup that was adapted to fit a BBC. The air-pump/idler pully may be missing but the belt routing is correct. The belt needs to see all that surface space on the crank pully or it will slip routed the way you have it. I know it fits both ways strange enough, I made the mistake of routing one the way yours is pictured a bunch of years ago when I was startin out in the automotive repair biz.

Looking Great 79shortwide!!! ;D

I am using a 18 circuit,  universal Chevy truck, Painless wiring harness that I bought from a board member over at fullsizechevy.com (I got it for 150.00 ).  I am almost done.  I still need to attach the ends and to the distributor wiring and the fuel sending unit.  Then wire up the back lights and I'll be ready to test it out.  I ment to do a writeup on the process, but I want to do a writeup on the Dakota Digital install first.

The harness comes with the fuse panel and all the supply wires.  I still had to use many old ends from my old wiring harnesses.  I had to reuse the old interior, heater, horn and rear light harness.  They were in good shape still - just needed cleaned up.  I had to buy alot of crimp connectors and heat shrink tubing.  So far I have about 35 hours in the wiring, but it is starting to take shape.

PUSHROD,
Looks like you're correct! Like I said before--I'm always open to listen. THANK YOU. I had one of my parts people research the belt routing for the 89-92 Camaro (the system I'm suposed to have) and found 2 versions. I tried both and I need a longer belt. This makes no sense to me because all the serp pieces I've purchased are according to what came on the Camaro. Anyway, going to try a few other belts and re-route it. Will post some updated pics when I get it done.

JJSZABO,
35 hours? That's all? LOL. Like I said before--I'm not really looking forward to it. Keep those pics coming. Your truck is really taking shape. Nice ! If we had a dollar for every hour spent involving our projects, we could probably live off the interest.

79shortwide, have you checked with Proform to see if they have your brackets and alternator connector cap?  Their website www.proformparts.com has a phone no. 1-586-774-2500

Hello,
Like your build,  maybe I missed it but what type of headers are you using.  (make, model type).
