I don't know about the trucks, but the scout and scout II have a lot of parts available for them.

My last truck was a 67 IH pickup. They are really neat trucks. There are some aftermarket parts for them but near as much as GM trucks since the last year for pickups and travelalls was 74.
Here are some websites that I used to find parts.

Here is a forum that has good info.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

There are getting to be more Body Panels and such available for the Scouts/etc, but when it comes to readily available wear items(Brakes/Electrical/Etc), Companies are doing their best to steer clear of them....    About the only thing you could do, would be just to use the main Body/Shell, then replace all of the other items with parts from the Big3.  Try to walk into your Local Parts Store, or even better, one out in the middle of nowhere, and try to get parts for an IH! The Place would really have to be a Super Store, or a Real Little one that has had the parts on their shelf for the last 30yrs.....

The true local parts store here stocks parts for scouts..My grandfather used to have a 2wd scout, and there are a few of em around town. Its actually a Napa store now, but its the same owner and people that work there, they just bought the rights to put up a NAPA sign and stock anything a NAPA store can stock, plus their old stuff.

Yep a "True Parts Store", once their Old Stock is gone, CRAPA won't replace it...  Back when I was in Auto Parts Sales, the Chain Store I worked at, was originally a NW Based Auto Parts Store that had all of the hard to find stuff.  When the Company I worked for bought out the smaller one, they left everything on the shelves, and just added their stuff...  6mos. after I started there, my Corperate Office decided that it wanted to remove all of the remaining stock from the take over, and all of the hard to find stuff was sold for scrap ???  Alot of the stuff was items that had been discontinued from the manufacturer in the Late '70's/Early '80's, and that Manufacturer was long since out of Business...
My last few months in AP Sales, they were purging the systems of anything older than '75/77 that wasn't used on a newer model year, and they were pulling all of the Old Paper Reference Catalogs!  I know that Non Commercial International,Studebaker,Kaiser, Packard, and a few others were on a list of parts we would no longer be able to source through our vendors, as per Corperate( Alhtough I and afew of my other Co-workers still could get the parts for our regular Customers)...

Theres the difference, Napa has very little say in what goes in this store, they didn't buy the store.

Werewolf, What year was this Scout your grandfather had? Are you sure it was a Scout & not Travelall or truck? I'm not a Scout expert by any means, but that's what I thought made them what they were/are is the 4x4. Do you have any pictures? What did it have in the front for suspension? Thanks, Lorne

And Hopefully it stays that way!  Around here it starts of with a Major Chain coming in to help the Little Parts Stores stay open, then they wind up controling those locations, due to the Customers and Vendors all becoming a part of Chains line up, and the Individual Owners are forced out due to lack of product, and Customers....

I personally don't have any pictures of it, I don't know if my grandfather still does or not..it was handed down to my oldest half brother when he was 16, and he promptly rolled it within 2 months..hes 9 years older than me, so I would have been 7 or 8 years old the last time I saw it. But it was a 2 door, resembled a blazer inside, but it had a one piece steel roof that was NOT removable, it was a former Civil Air Patrol (air force reserve) vehicle. My father, grandfather, and brother all said the same thing that it said it was a scout 800 according to the title, 3 speed on the floor, two wheel drive helpless pig.

I checked at the local Auto Zone I work at and we don't carry anything for international trucks, just the scouts.
