Headliner glue?

Okay so I found a factory foam headliner for a crew cab the other day. I bought some microsuede and a couple of cans of "locktite headliner spray glue" From reading the package it sounded better than the 3M stuff. (both the HD and standard).

Locktite stuff was $10 a can. I used 2 full cans.
3M was $16 a can for Heavy Duty and $14 a can for regular. (cans actually said they eat certain types of foam)


Followed the directions to a Tee.  The micor suede is stuck to the foam, but VERY lightly. It took the shape well, but still only stuck VERY VERY lightly.


Is there a better solution for sticking fabric to foam?

I've used 3M Spray Trim Adhesive for years with no problems what so ever, Good Stuff.

yea 3m spray does a good job but locktite should of done just as good of a job i used it on my "ford"  and it held up well

did you spray it on both surfaces and let it get tacky then apply it?  I have always used 3M...

yup. 

They actually say to spray a layer, let dry for 5 min, spray a layer in the opposite direction....let dry for 5 min.......repeat again and then you can put the two together.

I may have to peal it back and start over with the 3m on top of it to see if that will work better. I am just expecting a stronger stick.

I've always used 3M, like they said spray both parts let get tacky and work the material down, also I've been able to get it at walmart for around $8.00 or so.

Yeah, use 3M but when you lay it down do not stretch the material for a tight fit or it come loose over time. Just let the material lay into place and work it in.

Well, for future information the 3M headliner glue is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the Locktite stufff.

Always used 3M without any problems, Never tried loc-tite

yea, 3M has been around for a while, and with good reason...

ya i just did my friends s10 headliner useing 3m that what i always used, then i covered my plastic door panals with it and flamed them out to... i spay on one good coat then wait a bout a min or so... works great
