door hinges

The spot where my hinges mount to the cab look rusty...what can i do about this?  i have new doors to put on so should i fix it then?

How much rust? Can you post pictures?

not a ton, just surface...i sprayed it with some paint...i'll get some pics on tomorrow

You need to remove or convert the rust.  If you don't it will stay and "eat" away at the metal.  Spraying paint over the rust will do nothing except delay the inevitable.  Surface rust is very easy to remove.
