dash lights
« on: January 29, 2008, 08:06:41 pm »
i have a small problem, i'll see if you guys know what it is before i get into it.  my gas guage works fine but when i turn the headlights on  the gas guage goes all the way down below E and the lights on that side of the dash shut off.  If I press on the dash a little or hit it lightly they'll turn back on and stay on for a few seconds.  Any ideas? thanks

The circuit board on back of the speedometer cluster is bad.  I have had more than 1 truck do this to me.  I went to the local pick and pull and lucked out and landed a nice one with a quartz clock.  I put it in mine to make sure it was OK, then I switched all my guages into it, problem fixed

I couldn't tell you if it would fit or not.  I lucked out on mine, got one out of the same year + a quartz clock and the power/ground wires for it.
