Sadly I do not have any pics. of the truck with the yellow letter goodyears, lost'em in a move a few years ago. :(    I am not sure if they still make the yellow letter tires, but those markers work real good.

I bought the white tire marker and it quickly turned brown.

Colored Bands/Pinstripes(Tire type)/Wide Walls/and Lettering will do the same over time, that is due to the accumulation of brake dust,UV Fading, and other contaminates...  Proper maintenance/cleaning should help with extending it, but eventually everything will fade and need to be reapplied :-\

Mine turned brown in less than a week on a non-moving truck.  I bet it was UV fading like you said.

I found the long term solution to making yellow letter tires, but everybody says its too involved, so their loss...lol  I use yellow plasti-dip, that stuff you dip your pliers' handle in to coat it.  I apply it with a syringe and nobody can tell it didn't come that way and lasted 60k miles on my dad's last set of tires, and it's on this set too.  The stuff actually keeps the letters cleaner than with nothing on em.  the black part will get really brown n nasty, but the yellow letters still look clean.  It took me about 2 hours to do all 4 tires, and it lasts 60k miles or so so that's worth it to me.

here's a pic of one of his tires i did(it's a little blurry, sorry).  He has a nascar edition f-150 and the yellow i use doesn't look like it in the pic, but it matches the original yellow letter tires color that came from the factory on it it in 98

here's what i use...

here's the website
http://www.plastidip.com/home_solutions/Plasti_Dip

When you go to apply it, scrub the letters with some wesleys bleach-white and get em clean as you can.  do not sand or otherwise scuff up the letters, is will make the edges of the plasti dip rough.  if you mess up acetone will remove the stuff.

Thanks for the compliment.  I need to replace a couple of small things here and there, but overall I am happy with it.
