New to the forums, but not the site.
« on: February 01, 2008, 10:21:46 am »
I'm Brad from Southern MD. Married 21 yrs, daughter 18, son 9. My driver is a 1987 LWB 350/700R4 Silverado I got from the original owner. It's got 270K on the original engine, and on it's 3rd trans due to the OO trailering horses.

My project is a 1976 K-10 SWB 350/TH-350. Original engine was a 400. I believe the OO still has it stored somewhere, but I haven't checked it out. I remember when he bought it new. That's when my interest switched to the square body trucks. I've acquired a 350 4-bolt. I tend to like the 350s because parts are easier to find, not to mention cheaper. Original fleetside bed was rusted away, as the 2nd owner was a commercial fisherman and hauled live crabs in it. I located a SWB stepside bed from the same period to replace it. I've finally gathered all the sheet metal to start the restore. Most of the patch panels came from 73-87chevytrucks.com when they were just starting out. Yes, I've been collecting parts THAT long.

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm glad I finally found this forum. I've been trying to research a combination of parts, and by far this is the most enlightening place I've found yet.

Welcome aboard from N.H.
