Inexpensive white gauges (pics)

I picked these white gauge overlays and blue LED bulbs up from www.whiteguages.net for a total of $75. I paid $20 for the overlays and $5 for each led bulb.  It turned out pretty nice IMO. Of coarse I would love to have new AUTO METER Gauges but this will hold me over for now.

The gauge cluster gave me a hard time because I forgot to disconnect the speedo cable like and Idiot. Other than that everythng went well. All together it took me about 3 hrs. I also replaced the stock bulbs behind the heater/AC, Wiper, & Tach to the Blue LED.

NOTE: My kit came with the Wiper and Heater/ AC overlay so If your interested in giving this kit a try you don't need to spend the extra $9 for the heater/ac overlay.

How do u get the Paper or sticker over the pointers..I was looking at the same thing and didnt want to chance a pointer breaking

There is about a 1/4 inch hole the the needle goes throught in the vinyl overlays.

i wouldnt mind having something like that in red...I wonder if  could just replace the bulbs with red 12v LEDs and keep the factory gauge faces? anyone tried it?

You could do the but you have to use the 194 led bulbs.

ive done the same thing to my gauges about a month ago but for some reason with the leds it wont rly light up. but before with the old bulbs it never lite up. im thinking i might need one of those stips on the back of the clusters that connect all the bulbs together

I noticed when I was putting my new bulbs in, if they did not light up I had to pull them out an rotate them 180 degrees in the socket and they worked.

yea i did that when i was installing it also. it just puts out very weak light lol

Where and how exactly did you mount the tach?

was it really bad to get it all done?
about how did it take to get the overlays shipped in?

it took about a week or so to get it in and maybe 30 mins tops to do it. it makes the gauges look a little better than stock if you like the white look.

im waiting now to see if i can get hold of a complete cluster and harness for mine.
my truck is a idiot light truck and a non-ac truck.
i started to buy all the autometers to do the cluster cut up but decided to just keep it kinda stock looking besides the tach.

hey uno i got my kit in today and it didnt come with the a/c overlay.
by chance di you have 1 of the ac overlays still?
if so which one, ill buy it off you before tonight is up.
