Just a reminder: it doesn't pay off to rush a project just because the adrenalin is pumping and you can't wait to get your truck back on the road. Although my mishaps were minor, they could've been much worse if it weren't for keen ears and eyes. The first trip out I took with my wife, we wound up at the Auto Zone I work at and found out my fuel line had popped off (the one that feeds the carb...lots of fuel lost with that one!) and just tonite, when I took my dad out for a spin, my lower heater hose popped off at the firewall and I lost half of what was in my radiator in the short 2 minute drive it took to get from the entrance of my subdivision to my driveway. I honestly believe that this could've easily escalated into a blown head gasket, and the fuel line incident could've burned my truck to the ground. Yes, it was wonderful to be able to take my pride and joy out on the road after waiting 3 long years and over 2000 dollars later, but rushing did not pay off.
