Vacuum: The Basics

Hey Guys,

I would like to make sure my vacuum lines are hooked up properly.  Just the basics - no smog/emission equipment.

1986 C/10
350 Engine/350 Trans
Holley Model 4150 Double Pumper

If you could give me a "this goes to this", or a diagram (not the one under the hood - like I said, no smog equipment).  Just the simple basics.

Well i pluged all mine up but u do want the vacuum advance...PVC...And brake booster...Thats all i run...And a vacuum gauge
Ok brake booster goes to the large port on back of carb....and  pvc can go to larg one on the side.....And Ur vacuum advance goes to a source that only gets vacuum when u lay on the gas..On a holey its next to the float bowl ..now i only had one large port so i had to use a T fitting for my pcv and brake booster works well i have no probs with stoping

Of course you need the vac line going to the hvac vac resivoir (round ball on pass side in engine compartment) that operates the various air handler doors. Comes off a tee fitting on the manifold.

I have only owned AC equiped trucks, don't know if heater-only had this or not.

Nope, no Vac. ball on the non A/C trucks.

As redneck says, there is a port on the carb by the float bowl for the Advance. Its been so long sence Ive tinkered with a Carb I have forgot how the brakes get their Vacuum. Plus the fact most of my trucks have Hydroboost......
