question about hood mod
« on: March 04, 2008, 04:05:37 am »
I am restoring an 84 gmc sierra however I am putting a 73 gmc front clip on it. Has anyone cut off the back few inches off of a 73-80 hood so you can use the 81-87 cowl and hood hinges so the 73-80 hood functions like a 81-87 hood? Sound like more trouble than its worth? thanks, Jeremy

If you cut that off you are taking out structural integrity. If you did it so as to build structure back in you are looking at hours and hours of metal fabrication.

It would be much simpler to pull that item and put on the 73-80 wiper assembly and be done..   If you got the skills go for it.

no I dont have the skill to do this right but it would make a nice unique touch on a show truck.
