Can I keep the TBI with a new, bigger engine?

what is the TPI,and ASI and how do i set them that may be my problem with my truck i have a dead spot double peddle to get past it.

 

76 scottsdale, are you swapping the entire axle assembly or just ring and pinion?

My bad, I am just swapping the ring and pinion... I hope for now.  If I need a new carrier, then I guess I'll be doing that too.  Getting ready to find out what gears I have shortly.  Just have to go get a new gasket for the cover.  Then I won't be having to beg for answers to my educated guesses, I will have some real facts.

I did that same swap in my old 87 r-10.  I put a 1973 400 in it and kept the tbi.  it came with a 305 originally, th700r4 and 2.something gears.  I got a 350 computer box out of a suburban for the chip, and put new 454 injectors in the tbi and used the original parts from the tbi setup otherwise.  also i had a mild rv cam in the engine, tbi's don't like hot cams without major changes, starting with a custom chip.
