Powder Coat

Sent out some parts Friday for powder coat.  Can't wait to get them back and swap over.  Picked up some gm nos tank hangers, spring hangers and front hanger braces.  Spent some time and ground the edges smooth and blasted.

Where are you located and who does your powder? I was thinking about driving all the way to Powder X in Tennessee if I couldn't find a local shop. How much do you think it would run to have a full longbed bare frame done?

The parts are going on my blue truck.  The color is sparkling silver.  I live in Owosso Michigan and the guy that does this for me is like 20 min away.  He is crazy cheep.  Prices are going up due to fuel costs.  He charged me 450 to powder coat my frame plus sand.  I had like 600 total to completly sand blast the frame and powder coat it.  If I did the work myself I would have had way more than that into it and I had a week turnaround and got the frame back.

That is a decent price. The local guy I got a quote from says he doesn't media blast, he just powdercoats, so i'd have to pay someone else to do that and lug it to two different shops. Oh well, I guess you have to do what you have to do if you want it right.

The whole frame is already done, just swapping out some of the parts I wasn't happy with.  Here are some of the build pics, the radiator support is also powder coat.

I think i'm in love! Have you installed the parts? Do they seem more durable than paint (less likely to scratch)?

You wouldn't happen to know the gm numbers on the tank brackets would ya cuz I'd like to look them up.
