Got a car hauler

Picked up a 18ft by 102 wide car hauler this week.  Seems to be a nice trailer.  My dad and I where messing with the trailer brake controler, because it didn't work when I picked up the trailer, I had just installed it the night before, and wondered if I had a wire crossed, so Dad and I started to investigate it. I layed down under the trailer and noticed the wires looked awfull, hanging down, the brakes where not wired properly and the trailer was bare steel undernieth. ( it was POORING rain when I got the trailer on Wed. in a very rain saturated Sikeston, MO)  They told me they paint tip to tail with primer and top coat.  All I have is a light top coat on mostly just the top of the trailer, so I had a chat with them, and they sound like they are going to either get me another trailer, or redo the one I have.  I don't want that, it is already flash rusted......  I really hope they just make me another trailer.  I paid to much to have to take it back and do with out, while they "redo" there mistakes....

Looks like a nice trailer, did it come with a spare? Two guys I know bought car trailers ( Big Tex's ) in the last few years. They didn't come with spares??

Big Tex build trailers about 10 miles from my house, and I have bought several. They don't come with spares, unless you can work a deal with the salesman. I had a custome 20 ft car hauler built,and have always been able to get them to through in a spare, but you gotta ask.

It looks very similar to one my Dad picked up about 12 years ago or so, right down to the tape pinstripes , there are a couple of outfits in that part of Missouri building similar trailers but ISTR his came out of Sikeston too. 
The build quality was pretty similar too, it's needed some TLC on the wiring and we slapped a good coat of machinery enamel on it within a couple of years These trailers are cheaper up-front, but IMO seem to be OK value for the money if you don't mind some sorting out of little stuff.....
Other than the wooden deck getting soft it's been a workhorse and hasn't required a lot of messing with once the original problems were sorted out, fixing the deck is pretty high on my list when the @#$% snow finally melts

I was thinking about getting a car hauler from that manufacturer in Sikeston myself. Keep us posted on their remedy.

that looks like a nice trailer...too bad they skimped on the details.  i have passed the "Big Tex" factory a few times going from Killeen to Texarkana...nice lil setup...

Hey bowtie,
if you can PM me on what you paid for it if ya dont mind, that is exactly what i am looking for.Its always nice to have 1 of those and i really dont wanna buy a used 1 that got rust all over it and i will probably add a winch to it as well.

Took some more pics off the camera.  By the way, if any one is in the GM SUV market, get the auto ride.  It is SO worth it having the auto filling air shocks out back.  Keeps the truck sitting level.
