Got my radio back!
« on: March 24, 2008, 09:49:57 pm »
Well, after an eight week wait, finally got the radio back from the shop for Yeller.  Let me tell you, this things sounds sooo nice, I can't believe how different it sounds over the stock AM/FM unit!  Long story short, the radio now has all modern internals, digital tuner with LED signal display, 45X4 watts, auxiliary input for CD, MP3, iPod, Satellite radio, casette, etc..  What I also like is it looks completely stock from the front, I don't have to cut up my dash, and I doubt any thief would look in the truck and break into it to steal my "system".  If anyone is interested in upgrading your radio, here is the place that did mine.

These fellas are just fantastic, know what they are talking about, and provide excellent customer service.  I'll be going back for my next old car radio for sure.

I have been waiting to see this when you got it back.  So how does the inputs work?  Where does it display, does the buttons still work.
I have been holding onto the 8 track that came out of my fathers 75 to do this to it.

Chris, the radio works exactly as it did prior to the upgrade.  The LED is behind the dial face.  The presets all work the same.  It is soo cool, I am very impressed.  Call me sometime, I can explain more if you need it.  YES, they can also upgrade your 8 track player I believe.

It set me back $426, I provided the radio.  Not bad IMO compared to what a new DIN radio would cost.
