Bigger is always better. Mine is 24x24 and I wish I had gone deeper. It is very tight pulling an engine on a shortbed and with the longbed I have to put the rear end out the door.

Way to small. 24 wide is to narrow, and minimum deep should be 32.
That price can't include concrete, and dirt work?

The concrete would be almost that much in and of itself--maybe a tad less.

I figured in my neck of the woods it would be about $800.

how wide is the overhead door? it may just be the pic but it looks pretty narrow. I think you're going to have a hard time doing a ground up in that small of an area. Once the truck is in there, it doesn't look like you'll have any room for tools/equipment or any storage room for big parts that you pull off the truck.

My shop is 36x48 with 8' across the back in a kitchen, bathroom and storage room. I have two 14' wide by 16' tall doors.

I would build as big as you have room for and can afford. I built mine 4 years ago and the concrete (6" with fiber and 3/4" rebar at $64 per sq foot) with footing and fineshed with anchor bolts installed was just below the cost of the building.
Then add the cost of erection, 4" insulation on all walls, plumbing, electrical, 3 16'x16' doors and 3 4'x7' doors. I did the dirt work my self.
I call it my home away from home !
60'x60'x18' with 3/12 pitch roof
Why the title confused ?
