4th gen Camaros?
« on: April 04, 2008, 07:05:44 pm »
Anyone here ever fooled with 4th gen Camaros? I have always liked the look of the 3rd gen IROC wheels. Thinking they would look good on my 95 Camaro? I know the fronts and rears are different from each other. From what I have read I am thinking four fronts might work pretty good.

Personally I have little use for anything newer than a 2nd gen Camaro. But I own it, and I can't seem to sell it, so why not make it look a little better. I like the old and the new Torque Thrusts too. But I am looking for low buck, plus I like the factory wheel from another model theme. Like my 55 with the aluminum 78 Vette wheels.

I'm hip Blazin, your 55 looks real cool with those wheels. Different era model wheels interchanged on other year or model cars and trucks are the ultimate in subtle yet easy custom mods you can do. Let's see the pics after you do the Camaro.

I have seen a couple fourth gens with iroc wheels and honestly they just dont look right. Irock wheels are blocky looking I guess on a rounded out car where as third gens are blocky looking by design.

You are saying they didn't look right by design. What about fit? Did they fill the wheel wells correctly? Did the track from front to rear look correct?

its just personal opinion but yes the design just doesnt flow with the body of a 4th gen. I honestly dont remember how well they filled out the wheel wells but I would think it would be about the same as your stock wheels. Why not use some salad shooters from your era camaro? they are dirt cheap and look good in my opinion.

Salad shooters ;D. Those things are ugly. Well the problem is the rear tires don't fill the wheel wells enough now.

I've fooled with 3rd and 4th's. The wheels should fit no problem. Just make sure the offset will match yours.

Then again the frame and suspension of the 4th gen isn't that much different from the 3rd gens from what I've seen. I think even monte carlo rims would work.

Monte rims are different bolt pattern I already tried them. I know 3rd gens will fit, they are the same bolt pattern. My question was more should ai buy a set? Or should I buy two front pairs. The stock rear rims in my opinion dont fill the rear wheel wells enough. Not out far enough. I have a lead on another set of Vette wheels like the ones on my 55. I might see how they look onthere! :-\
