Hey so you mount the popper in the hole not the solenoid it goes in the door to pull on the latch the closer to the latch the better
Right right.  Okay but if it's in that hole how is it gonna pop the door open?  The hole on mine comes out the side of the door about a foot or two under the latch.  Also, I guess I got confused earlier, where did you guys mount the solenoids for a good pull?

ok guys this is how I done it. remove the interior door handle but leave the pull rod connected to the door catch. cut out a 4" square from the door skin and weld a flat plat behind it. Fix solenoid to flat plate. the reason I located it there was the solenoid will pull the same way as original. cut pull rod to length and with a pair of pliers bend the rod over and attach to solenoid. try and make it a tight fit or the solenoid will only pull the slack.

the popper was fitted in the rubber door stop hole. drill out to accomodate and fix in place. 1st time wind the popper all the way in and test. adjust to fit/meet door when the door is closed. ensure the popper is int too far out as when you close the door it will push the bottom out.

hope this helps guys   :)

SO then you can only open it with a remote, even from the inside?

in the kit from mypushcart @ ebay it comes with 2x electric push buttons for the inside. Only advice- keep both buttons near the driver. It stops the passenger "popping" the door as you travel!!

Interesting.  Do you have pics of your door, where everything is mounted?

I planned on shaving the doors on my pickup... I just planned on using starter actuators to pull the rod. They seem to be plenty strong...

I haven't found any poppers yet, but thats next up.

As for entry, I plan on either wiring up an aftermarket alarm system and using the remote to open the doors,,,, or leaving the locks in and using a flush mount rubber button between the cab and the bed. I've found that the rear hatch buttons from a dodge caravan are perfect, but have yet to find the part number... even though I work for dodge.

Is there any way to do this without hacking up the inside of the door or chopping off the inside handle?  I believe Chris mentioned pulleys.  Where could I get a set of these?

I don't know where to get the pulleys, I would think any tool shop should have something...
I installed them on my 73 and mounted the solenoid in the door pillar above the latch and I used the existing interior handle.

Okay, yeah I think I know where you're talking about.  I'll have to take a look next time I pop off the panel.

Seems kinda awkward, you no longer have an outside handle to grab on to and pull the door open. I guess you just kinda grab the lip of the door now? Looks pretty cool other than having to get used to that part.

Actually there is a popper in the door that opens it partway...
