did I pay to much?
« on: June 29, 2006, 07:19:00 pm »
I have just bought an '87 GMC truck. It is the same as a silverado except a GMC. (not sure of the trim name) The truck is in pretty good shape. Nothing is really wrong with the body. A few skins and scratches, but nothing that is a concern. The a/c works and so does the power windows. The power door locks don't work, but that is all I found that does not. The truck has a TBI 350 in it with the 700r4 overdrive trans. I paid $2500 for it. It also has been dropped about 2" all the way around and has 15X10 corvette rallies with the caps and bands. Does this sound like a good price or to much?

If it runs well, no major body issues, I'd say that is a good price. congrats!!

Sounds like a decent deal to me. One question, did they swap over the bolt pattern for the Vette rims or are they adaptors? If they are adaptors keep an eye on the lug nuts. Sometimes adaptor have a tendency to losen the lug nuts.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Thanks guys. I thought it was a good price for the truck. I looks good. No rust and such. As for the vette wheels. They are look alikes. I am in GA. Back a few years ago vette wheels made a huge comeback. A lot of companies started making vette wheels to fit just about everything. People have even started running them on Ford products. You can get center caps with just about any logo on them that you want. I have to admit. They look pretty slick. The way the truck is dropped makes it look real good with those 10" wide wheels filling up the fenderwells. If I can get to it I will try to post a pic in the next few days.
