new wheel input
« on: April 22, 2008, 02:23:20 pm »
here is what i am looking at for wheels.  they are the moto metal 955's. i was wondering if anyone has used these wheels and if so does anyone have a picture with them on there truck.  also these are going on a two wheel drive, the current tire size is fronts 7.5x16.5 and rears are 9.5 16.5.  and recommended tires sizes would be a help.  i like the look of bigger rears and smaller fronts.

Is you truck 4 wheel drive. If so, I wouldn't mis match tires. If 2 wheel drive, that depends on if you are lowering, or lifting, or what look are you going for. I would at least get rid of the 16.5's 16s have more tire options.

its a two wheel, i would never mis match wheel and tire size on a 4x4.  i plan on leaving it the stock hight, the truck is a 77 c20. i guess i don't know how to get pictures to load to put into the post or i would post a couple.  the wheel size i am looking at is a 16x8 but i might go up to a 17x9. just wanting to get some opinions on this.  Marty

I'm sorry about the dumb question, there are some idiots who do mis-match around my area, I didn't intend for it to offend you. There is actually a 90's Z-71 here with 14" wire spokes.
I think that 17x9's with 33/10.50's ( or equivalnent) would look awesome on that truck. I can put 33's on my 81 ok so you should be in the same park, but 32's may clear better.

you didn't offend me, i understand there are stupid people. i also have my lifted 4x4 as my little picture so i can see why you thought i was talking about putting wheels on a 4xx4. i am trying to get away from the 16.5's  i like the look of bigger tires on the back and a little smaller on the front.  i was thinking about something around a 235 70 16 front and a 285 70 16 rear. anybody run a combo close to that i would love to see a picture to see it it looks good.  later Marty

HA In your area too!!!   Usually the Mooks around here, will buy a Z71, add a 2 to 6" lift, throw on 13-14" Chrome/Gold Wires, add plastic chrome or gold on every edge,a hoop wing on the bed,cab lights, and a Single or Dual Fart Can for the exhaust :-X ::) :o :'(

Hmph in my High School days, you said sick when you were, and Sik when you thought something was "Blanking"(Replaced to be more family friendly!) Kool....

Eh still trying to figure out the current generations styles.... I mean when did Glam Punk become Emo, and when did it become cool to have the Farrah Feather Cut that alot of the Male Tweens/Teens/Early 20 somethings have now a days ??? ??? ???  Sure I understand styles repeat themselves, but how did we get back to the Late 70's to the 90's already ::)
