What is the port type on a 1983 350. Is is oval or d shape or another shape? I need to buy headers asap and need to know what port to get.

If you order them for the application it will come correct, there wasn't any different head types for pickups, they are round.

D port heads were from the aluminum vette/crate motor heads
or like the GM fastburn heads

stock heads are square
with rounded corners

If you use D-port headers on a square port exhaust port you may experiance leakage
