larger rally wheels?
« on: May 03, 2008, 12:44:53 am »
Hi guys, been lurking for a while learning.  I could not find any info on this though.  I like the look of chev's rally wheels but also like the the more modern look of big rims, low profile tires.  I was thinking I might like to have 17 or 18" rally rims, kind of a subtle modernized near stock look.  Can I get 17" beauty rings.  How about the rims?  Could I find some cheap steel ones from something?  Do you guys think this might be nice look?

I have seen the car style rallies in 17, & 18 inch but never the truck ones.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

http://www.stocktonwheel.com/heavy_duty_wheels.htm Stockton has them in 17.
Yeah Stockton will make you a set of 17" Steels for you, the downside is they have a considerable price of their wheels($150-$200 a piece, + S/H), and they don't offer any trim rings for anything above 16"....  I have been wanting 17" Steels myself, and they were the first place I called, but have steered away since I can get lighter weight, and better looking Aluminums for around the same price....

Thanks for the help guys.  Your right Dragon, you gotta have the beauty ring to complete the package.  Kind of pricey too for a subtle change.  I had hoped there was some larger GM applications that I did not know about.  I still like the idea though if you are wanting a kind of sleeper/stock/updated look.  When I win the lottery I guess.

Yeah I hear ya, I'm basically in the same boat, realistically just can't see spending that much for some Steels, without having won the Lottery!!!
Ofcourse if I did win the Lotto, I would be able to throw down the cash for some 18"-22" Billet Rallyes, along with some 38"-40" IROK's to wrap them in ;D

As for larger GM Apps, 16"/16.5" was as far as they got with the Steels...  It has only been within recent years that they have even offered 17"s and Above on any of their Products(same with Dodge and Ford!!!)....

I have 16" 8Lugs on my truck, and would like to throw on some rings and Steel Centers like 5 and 6 Luggers have, but all I can find is the Plastic Later Model ones(Remember seeing some for Vans, but they have long since disappeared) :-[

Not to hijack this thread, but was wondering if anyone has seen an aftermarket wheel that will fit my 8-lug C20 but looks like a stocker GM Rally-style wheel?  Can be stock size.  Getting tough to find anything 8-lug GM anymore other than the white wagon-wheel spokes.
