Power window and lock switches
« on: September 26, 2006, 01:21:00 pm »
Hey Y'all-

Been checking out this forum for awhile and there seems to be alot of good info on here. I recently bought an all original, one owner 1988 crew cab dually (65,000 miles) and drove it home (from Los Angeles to Detroit) and i noticed the power window and lock switches could use replacing. My question is this: Can i replace these without removing the door panels? I'm assuming the switch bezels snap into place so i was wondering if i could just break the old bezels out and swap the new switch and wiring harness and snap the new ones back in or not. I'm not sure if the switches themselves are held in by screws or if their weight is supported by the bezel, and i dont want to take the door panels off if i dont have to. Thanks for any info.

well you have to take off the door panels to remove the switches unless you wanna break the door panels in the process but after you do take the door panels off just remove the wires and there are pinch clips to remove the switches
