I agree, but finding the right "conversion lugs" for those rims are hard to find, at least when I looked, to use the bolt on centers

will the newer 20" wheels off a yukon fit on my 1/2 ton 5 lug truck or are the wheels 6 lug...I'm not sure...also if they are the right bolt pattern, do they have the right backspacing...

Chuck Don't get too discouraged there Bro! If you can afford the new Rims, you can easily pick up a set of adapters to make them work....  Since you have a 2wheeler, you can easily get away with running a set of the Correct 5 to 6 Lugger adapter plates(usually can be had for a couple of hundred give or take)....

Ours would be a bit easier to match with the newer trucks, the biggest concern would be getting the correct Lugnuts for your truck to use them....  It's my understanding that the '88's to current went to Metric Lugs and Nuts, so one would need the SAE equivalent Nuts to work with whatever newer rim chosen(Atleast that is all the guys I have spoke to, did to use the Later '04 and up rims on their 73-80's)....

I too am Hoping that is all I have to do, and I'll be picking up some 04's and up, to replace my Steelies when I get new tires(If I don't keep finding new problems with my truck, that was supposed to be "fixed" by the Shop that rebuilt it recently ).....

The 8 lug wheels all swap out back to the mid sixties i think.  The offsets probably differ some, but the pattern and hub is the same for 8 luggers.  You need lug nuts with an outer thread for the center caps to attach to.  here's a set I found on ebay.  It's the same set I bought for my 78 with 2001 wheels.
