It would be a full undertaking, but it is possible.  The rear hangers for the springs are diffierent as are the trans crossmembers.

It would be easier to buy a 2WD truck.

I feel alone over here in the desert. I don't think anyone is close. If anyone is in this area, and is hunting certain parts, let me know. 76k10, I have what you need, just don't know how to get it to you.

someday after i get the GMC to where i want it (or a little closer at least) we might have to just have a meet anyhow.  we got a few Texas guys on here, we might be able to organize a small 73-87 Chevy meet...have some BBQ and nice cruise...

Why not? I am used to driving a couple hundred miles a day anyway, as alot of Texans are. I never thought about it until a friend of mine from Virginia pointed out ( with a little aggravation in his voice) that everytime he asks one of us "Texans" how far something was, we told him hours, not miles. Seems kinda funny until I got caught in Detroit for a class, and was told the training facility was about 10 miles away. Texas translation= 15-20 minutes drive at best,, Detroit translation= leave 45 minutes before at least, and be prepared to drive past it, take the turn around, and go back to it. I didn't see a single store there that you could drive straight to ( or more than  5 cars in a row that weren't rotting out). I was glad to get back home.

lol thats one good thing about being a native texan, how big everything is, and the weather, no snow= no salted roads=very little rust, unless we're talkin about the floor of my stepside  ;D I dont think im very close to any other texans here, im in east texas ::) but it would be kool to go cruisin, just cost a ton in gas!! Oh yeah as far as the frame, it would probably be easier to swap frames, or get a diff. truck
