Size Inputs
« on: June 18, 2008, 12:02:21 am »
ok here is my question.
ive got hold of some 96 Impala SS wheels that there dipped in chrome and its started flaking.
well ive got the tires off so i can re do them.
i know stock tire size for the SS cars was 255/50/17.
what would be the best size to run with a 3/4 drop?
also i have a 2.73 10 bolt in the truck now and am trying to find a 3.23 or 3.42 10 bolt to replace the old unit.
which would be better for over all driving, cruise, play, burnouts, ect...
truck has a built TH400 and a 2200 stall.
also trying not to break the bank buying tires.

I have Impala SS wheels and I plan to run 275/50/17's and mine will be 4/6 dropped.
As for gearing, I would get 3.42 at the max for non overdrive.

Typo that should have said 275/55/17...
I have no idea on the price,  right before I was going to buy them I torn the truck down to the frame...
They list some on tirerack for $140.
