deja vu?

ok, here's the story: last year at about this same time of year there is an event that goes on about 50 miles from where i live called The Hillclimb. Anyways last year i drove my pickup to the event and everything ran well...temp, oil, voltage...all checked out just right. I drove to the event, parked my pickup for 5-6 hours then started it up, let it warm up a couple minutes then went about my way back home. However about halfways home my pickup started cutting out and was starving for fuel then was running alright again until i was about 20-25 miles out of town and she died on the highway. I pulled over, popped the hood to check things out and found no fuel was gettin to the carb so i ended up towin my pickup home and replacing the fuel pump. Problem solved until now, same time as last year, same time/place, same problem exept i made it into town before she died on me this time. Both years it was in the 80's and fairly windy weather. My question is what could be causing this? I'm lettin my pickup sit til in done with work tonight then im gonna go see if she'll start back up. I just cant figure out what would cause it to the same exact thing two years in a row.
My pickup is a 79 K10 with a 350/350 combo by the way.
Any ideas or theories would be appreciated.

When the engine warms up to operating temp, have you checked for vacuum leaks at the carburetor and vac. lines?

one word....
coincidence. There you go--free of charge. Some people pay for my advice.
That is pretty wicked though...but I'd say based on a yearly mileage total of 10,000 miles per year, that is about a one in a hundred chance for the same hundred mile round trip happening twice. Or, figuring it out by the number of trips annually...say 350 trips a year...that would be about a one in 350 chance.
