I've been MIA
« on: January 03, 2007, 03:05:00 pm »
I have been MIA for a few weeks on the board.  Our Internet connection was down for about 4 days until it could be repaired.  Then at my house we where shutting the power on/off for some demolition.

During the weeks around Christmas I decided to get new flooring for the house (before the baby gets here).  I pulled the old flooring up to discover rot (actually Level-it) in the floor.  Upon inspection the rot went down to the foundation.  After pulling off the sheetrock we discovered that the window sill that was bad leaked to the center of the windows in the wall and rotted all that out.  I ended up having to remove the complete window/wall section in the house down to the foundation before and after Christmas.  We almost have the floor back together as of yesterday and hopefully we can get back in the house soon.

I had planned on spending this time working on my projects to get the running.  BUMMER.

How about everyone elses Holidays?

Sounds like an old house, cha ching. Gotta love them! Mine wern't to bad. The Mrs. had to work and the girls were going to their dads for the day. Last minute she got called off work, so we did a quik prestent thing in the morning instead of after noon like we planed, then dropped them off at dads. Then we were like what are we going to do all day? So we drove around dropping off friends presents, like Santa and Mrs. Claus! Whan girls got home we had anice Christmas ham dinner.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

I injured my sciatic nerve and spent the Christmas flat on my back for 4 days. Then- two days in hospital in Ohio. Returned to Tenn Dec30, worked for a day, then had to return to Ohio when mother in law died on New Years day!

With the cost of sheetrock and lumber these days, I wouldn't want to be in roundedline's shoes. At least the weather hasn't held you up.

I feel as though it is an evolving Monster.  I pulled the Shower surround down last weekend to find more shoddy work.  Yippie!  On top of the fact that we have about 1 month left before the Baby is here and we aren't living in the house!

I wish that was the case.  I have been working on it since Dec. 18th..  I was planning on using that time to move the forums and get my 6.0L truck running.  Guess not...  I will be SO glad when this is done..  I finally got the floor replaced under the shower/tub and then move to the floor under the sink.  Figured might as well get it all before it gets bad...
