Painting The Interior

I've been reading up on proper techniques on how to paint my interior in my '87 R10, and today I decided to try it. I should have had more planning involved, because I didn't get as much done as I thought I would. I got the dash and bezel out, cleaned everything out really well, and I started painting the door frame. My truck was painted red, but it was factory blue. The blue is still the interior color, so I'm painting the metal and dying the dash and door panels. It's not as easy as I thought, but I'm only 16 and I've never done anything like this. I'm satisfied so far, and I haven't run into any problems . I got some vinyl prep, and all the black paint, and I've only got the passenger side door frame done.Thanks for reading! I'll gladly take any suggestions and comments! I want to show you guys my end result once I get there, but here are some pictures for now.

I started with the door frame and then the door where the door panel won't be covering it:

looks good so far, I took my door panels off and painted them, shined up the chrome and changed all of the fabric and upholstered bits to a fancy tweed i bought online, I have to take some pictures then put them upso we can check out each others paint jobs when we're done! (I'm an 18 year old girl and i did it fine so i doubt u'd have any problems )

Whoops, I thought I already posted my finished product, I guess it never went through. Anyway, I got everything done except the ceiling, pillars, and behind the seat. I'll do that after taking the seat out to put in new carpet.

Oh I get it!  I see the tape... So you just had to do the bottom half.. Ok!

how did that paint hold up on the plastic door panels? couldn't get mine to stick thst well. very nice job by the way

Looks good. Ive done this a couple times for our style trucks for people. Just blast it all black so you can't see the old color.
