Dont you Euro me! Blasphemy I tell you! The good old English Pound is about the only decent thing we have left over here. The vegetables (Brussels) have wiped out most of the tradition. Cant sell bent cucumbers they have to be straight, have to use kilo's instead of pounds and ounces grrrrrrrrrr dont get me started!!

Didn't mean to push a button  ;D  I remember when I was in school (quite some time ago--early 80's) that USA was trying to push the metric system.  So, every garage had to get a set of metric wrenches, sockets, etc..they actually started converting some street signs from miles to kilometers.  Needless to say, it was a confusing time, and Americans fought back.  We still have the centuries-old measuring system that is not based on 10 units.  However, you can buy a 2-litre bottle of Coke. Everything else is gallons, ounces, pounds, inches, feet, yards, etc...

That would make a great topic for my www.PonderedThoughts.com website.  Why is it you can buy a 12-ounce bottle of Coke and a 2-litre bottle of Coke?  Try buying a 2-litre bottle of milk. hmmmmm

.......and the politically correct nonsense. Cant have manhole covers for drains they have to be access lids to drain chambers. Market stall holders can't shout their ware's, we can't fly the St Georges' Flag on a flag-pole unless we have permission from the local council body. Smoking ban across Europe but only Britain seems to abide by a law they didn't make!  I loved it over with you guys, have food, a "pint" and a smoke all in the same place- truely wicked   ;)

A "bag" of milk  ;D  i thought we were daft!   Over here they are talking about banning smoking outdoors in some places- outrageous, especially as our government take millions from tobacco sales!  The UK is nearly a Nanny State and it sucks

As for noisy slots............................... lets not go there!
