djm tubular 3" drop control arms ???
«

well i bought the djm control arms put them on upper and lower new shocks the only thing i reused is the mystery springs .. i took it to get aligned because when i would be backing out of the drive way and cut the wheel to the right the driverside wheel would get in a bind and leave black marks ..well the guy got the camber set at 0 but it has positive 8 caster and thats lowest he could take it
what do i do whats wrong with it? i called djm and the guy seems to think that i have the upper arms backwards (left one on the right and vice versa) why arn't they labeled how do i tell if i do?

Assuming this is what you have done (control arms on the wrong side) the ball joint needs to be more foreward than it is now. If you look at the ball joint & see where it is in relationship to the center of the cross shaft on the control arm. By the sounds of it, the balljoint should be slightly ahead & you would have it behind the centerline. They must not look very different because your only moving the balljoint enough for a few degrees total, it's not like you have 16* or 18* which would be obviously different looking. I agree, a sticker "RT-LT" seem like a good idea in this case. Lorne

nope no grinding and they work a heck of alot better when you dont install the balljoints upside down ... thats why we should read the instructions and take our time when we get new toys
.... they are a really nice product

get the ones with the cross shaft you will have such a pain reusing your factory shaft.. mine i just bolted them on and was done besides the little mishap with putting the upper baljoint upside down..
.. but yeah i will post some pictures tonight after i have it aligned.. oh yeah i got them from summit they have the best price i could find anywhere when i called djm they even told me summit would prob be the best price i could find $239.95 for the uppers and $434.39 for the lowers.. and also if your buying them to cut weight leave the stock ones the lowers are def a little heavier then the stock.. but with that weight your getting a stronger arm from what it looks like to me
thanks, Erik

Erik, How did you get this put together & off to the alignment shop with the ball joint upside down? Did you not have the arms on the wrong sides?

Balljoint shouldn't be as far back as possible,
As pictured, I would say they left one goes to the passenger, the right = driver.
Or balljoint should be forward, this is what straightens out your caster.

i know i second what you say chris i was just going on what the instructions said and hoping for the best but it looks like im going to have to swap sides and pay for my 3rd alignment because the positive 10 caster feels real messed up in a turn i have to take turns REAL SLOW

from what i remember you should be able to take a drop line and upper and lower ball joints should line up.if not your spindel would b twisted.

The upper and lower ball joints won't be vertically inline, they will have some caster to them.
