That is one big storm.

I tried using my debit card
Just a little tidbit to think about when using a debit card at the pump before you pump... The station places a block for the amount you could have potentially bought for as long as a few days. That means you pull up, swipe the card and get a gallon of gas, what really happens behind the scenes is that they block off a few hundred dollars you will not have access to for maybe 2 or 3 days.

Hope everyone makes out OK throughout the storm.
The gas stations here in KY and TN are price gouging right now. I saw one station go up $.75 overnight and the others followed suit, but not as high.
Good luck to everyone in it's path though!

Good luck to all other H-town members. I'm all boarded up, here. The neighbors across the street put up painter's tape in the windows, lol. We'll see who had the right idea tomorrow morning.

I'll be thinking about you guys down in the Big T. About the gas price gouging, I can see that here in virginia already.
You know, they say the reason gas prices take soooo long to come down after barrels of oil decrease is because the stations bought the gas when the price was still high.
The forcast is for many refineries to be down due to the hurricane, and many offshore rigs to be down. OK, Great, but why did the price of gas go up last night 40 cents a gallon? The stations bought it when the price was down...it was just in the last day that the refineries and rigs went down, decreasing output.
GEEZE, and the Senate just had Exxon testifying a few months ago about this.

I am just south of the dallas/fort worth metroplex and all we got was a little bit of wind and rain. But now we got a cold front, though i do not know if it is related. I am glad thats all we got.

I'm up in KY and we had sustained winds of 50mph and 75mph at the worst with gusts to 95mph on Sunday. Did alot of damage to the yard, tore my 01 Silverado up pretty good, did alot of damage to the farm and blew the neighbors barn roof off.
Was without power for 16 hours adn I tell ya....I have new respect for the people in the hurricane region, I don't see how they do it.
Hope everyone down in Texas is safe!

The aftermath made it to Chicago. In NW Indiana we got about 13 inches of rain in 3 days. My dad's barn had 18 inches of standing water. 5 ft of water in the low spots in back. My sump was kicking on or should I say only off for 7 seconds for a while. I have never seen that much water come down and stay around. I couldn't imagine what it was at the heart of it.

Well I never imagined living in Ohio I would see the damage from hurricane winds like we did but the county I live in is in a state of emergency trees, power line and structual damage everywhere our school are going to be closed again tomarrow. Our power just came back on about 5pm after more than 24 hours. alot of people are still out of power. I spent all day cleaning up trees we lost 2 big ones and lots of branches what a mess. Well I no mine is nothing compared to alot of people I sure wish everyone the best.
