dual tank wiring
« on: September 12, 2008, 10:41:02 pm »
well, I have a driver's side tank right now on my truck...I want to install either a blazer tank in between the frame rails or another saddle tank on the passenger side along with the drivers side tank, so I can run one for diesel and one for wvo...I need to know what all I need to acquire to make the two tank setup work...I know I'll need a switch, the tank, filler neck, fuel lines, fuel pump because I'm doing a wvo conversion, and also the wiring harness...am I missing anything and also, which harness do I need...where does the harness start and where does it end...thanks...

Chuck.

One thing you've overlooked is the motorized valve to switch from one tank to the other tank. It usually mounts below the passenger side door along the frame. It would be great to install a 20 gallon tank between the rails at the rear of the chassis. Chris had a write-up on it. And for the wiring- Vilezambonie posted a wiring schematic for a two tank system. Good luck with your project. I like diesels. Some day all cars & trucks will be diesel powered. ;D
