TH 400 wiring
« on: September 15, 2008, 10:22:08 pm »
Hello, I'm just finishing up the swap from a th350 to a th400 and am wiring up the kick down switch and I was wondering something about my choice in wire. I ran 16ga from and accessory outlet on my fuse panel to the switch and 16ga from the switch to the tranny. Is this going to be heavy enough wire, should I have an in-line fuse, and is it fine to pull power from an accessory port for this?
Thanks
Ill

16ga is fine as far as I know. I would pull from Ign so if you mash the gas when the engine is not running the solenoid won't engage. The circuit needs to be fused somewhere.

Best bet is to find a diagram with the factory TH400 and duplicate the schematic.
