old style bumper on my 82... will it work?

I've got an '82 SWB. I have crapped later model bumper with the rubber inserts. I want to change the bumper out...and I've found an earlier model bumper (I believe off of a '78).

I assume the bumper will not work with my '82 brackets....BUT, what if I buy the '78 brackets? Will those older brackets bolt right up to my '82 frame?

The brackets will bolt to the frame, but the bumper won't mount to it.  The frame ends are different.  You would have to modify the frame rail for the 73-80 bumper to mount to the truck, and then it would look out of place.
