250 straight 6
« on: October 05, 2008, 01:35:27 am »
how many of you guys are running the 250 straight 6 (1 bbl)?
i have a 75 C-10 (base options) that has that motor with the 1 piece cast intake/head.
does anybody have a spare exhaust manifold for this particular setup?????? after 33 years i go to change the original freeze plugs.....which are behind the exhaust manifold and 7 of the 15 bolts broke off in the manifold.

Maybe this would be a good time to upgrade to a header, if there's room in the budget.

Clifford Performance truck headers  Not positive about the quality or fit, but to my knowledge they are the only option.

next time try to run your engine to get it warm, then try to take the bolts off.  Yes they will be hot, but, turning each just a turn or so when hot will help break them loose.  Then when it cools, remove them the rest of the way--or you can wear welder's gloves like I do when removing hot manifold bolts.  ;)
