Alternator
« on: August 12, 2024, 07:33:47 PM »
I bought this 86 K5. It has a serpentine belt on the alternator. I dont believe that is stock. It is squeaking real bad. I need to replace it. Can I get a 105 Amp alternator like for a mid 80's camaro and change the pulleys on it from mine? Will that work ok? Thanks in advance.

17802 or CS130 conversion based on what connectors and wiring you have. You say its not stock possibly so putting in a high output generator with inappropriate wiring could cause fire/meltdown.

I dont believe the 86 had a serpentine belt did it? This has a serpentine belt for the alternator but a regular belt for ps pump. AC compressor has been removed.
