Get one or two of David Vizard's books...

http://www.amazon.com/David-Vizard/e/B001JOWD4M/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1

Just remember to get a 400 ci crank and  flexplate (flywheel).  Pistons, rings, cam, cam bearings, ring compressor (to compress the rings when placing in the block bores, timing chain/gears, h2o pump, main bearing, rod bearings, oil pump, gasket set, new egr valve, new TVS, t-stadt, new belts, hoses, fuel pump.

Check out Summit Racing and start putting a list together. You essentially just need the parts you would with any overhaul but you are putting in a different rotating assembly and a piston with a different compression height. You will have to relieve the block to accomodate the new crank and have it bored/finish honed. There are 2 piece and 1 piece rear main seal engines too so you'll need to know that.

Most places such as Summit or Jeggs sell a kit just for this purpose. In the long run a stroker kit will probably be cheaper than piece mealing it.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Cool! Good luck with your project. There's no replacement for displacement for making power and more power is always better. Try a place called Competition Products. They have kits available for several different sizes, 355, 377, 383,406. They also have heads, cams, intakes and just about everything else.

www.competitionproducts.com    There in WI.
