Another drive shaft question
« on: March 24, 2010, 04:44:12 pm »
I have a 76 K10 with a 4" lift.As some of you know, when I went to bolt the rear drive shaft back up I noticed the splines were sticking out of the slip yoke a bit. I still have about 2" of spline inside the yoke. I noticed a little play when I push the shaft up and down. When I twist it, it is tight. Do you guys think this is anything to be worried about?

Well technically what ever is sticking out, thats less area that twisting force is getting to your rear end. I would just run it for now and get a longer one and have it balanced, etc in the mean time. I dont think it really will effect much though.

Reverse the spacers on your crossmember so you have the transfer case lower about an inch.
