power steering bracket
« on: March 20, 2013, 05:27:59 pm »
The bracket that allows you to tension down the belt and lock pump in place is broken. I have no clue were to get one. Looked in the store here. Would the water pump on a 350 ci  in a 73 c20 be considered a lwp (long water pump)?

So did you break it? Where's the rest of the bracket? You can weld yours back together, go to the boneyard or get an aftermarket one.

35 dollars for the aluminum bracket seems to me like a good deal... or if you have access to a welder just weld a piece of metal from where the other broke off.. if you weld it it´ll be free and thats the best part...

It was broke when I bought the truck so I don' t have the missing piece. I also checked local yards, and parts stores. Trying to keep truck original, or close so a brushed aluminum, or chromed bracket isn' t really going to be a good fit either.

I went thru the same thing however it was the fixed pivot bracket. I just installed a universal power steering pump bracket. Was a bit more than I wanted to spend but did the job with a minor mod to one busing.
