the thunder is Powder Coated Chrome while the performer is Ball Burnished thats just something i see

You can get a refurbished q-jet from an auto parts store.

Good call. I decided to order a remanufactured Quadrajet through Ebay. Found one from a national carburetor shop for $215 delivered with a 1 year warranty. http://www.ebay.com/itm/231101036896.  Thanks to everyone who helped me out! I love this forum.

I would highly recommend National Carburetors for anyone in the market for one.  I ordered this carb and bolted it on and the engine fired right up and runs perfectly. It also came with a one year warranty.  The prices are super low! http://www.nationalcarburetors.com/lookup.aspx?partnum=nd4478
