I've been looking at all sorts of clearance light ideas for an '88 CC dually project I have for a while now. I'm wanting all the clearance lights on the truck to end up being LED-lit.
I have a set of cab lights from an '88-'00 with brand new clear lenses, but I've yet to decide if I really want to use them or not.
I was looking around the net trying to find a good picture of them, but I kind of like the brand new 2007 GMC/Chevy 3500 cab lights. They're similar to the '01-'07 lights in that they're a 3-piece set with the center piece being a wide, 3-light unit, but they're a lower profile than the previous trucks and they're LED-lit. The housings are all black except for a narrow amber strip along the front side. I may have to hit a dealership with my camera someday, but this is the best I found online:

Something else to look at is the dually fender clearance lights of other trucks. They can make good cab lights too. I think this one had the cab lights shaved, but the sidemarker and fender lights appear to be SuperDuty F-350 fender lights.

Same story here. This truck still has the cab lights and the tailgate lights and they also appear to be the F-350 fender lights.

I really like the F-350 lights and they're a very low profile, which would fit your needs.
