np203 help

ok is the np203 transfer case a pain in the butt to put it ??? cuz on my other truck it has a np205 and it was real easy but this 203 is kicking my butt

It's heavy but not hard to put in. What's the problem?

I'm not sure what you're asking here :-\
I'll take a guess that you might be having 'fun' with the shifter?
The shifter on our 203s was flaky from the factory, they don't hold up to dirt and/or rust very well :(
That shifter is moving two completely different linkages, and it can be a real bear to deal with when crud builds up, I'm going to have to work over the one on *my* '76 K10 eventually :P
You might be able to free up the linkage by soaking it with lube, but sometimes you've got to tear it out and polish out the rust >:(
There are 'twin stick' kits out there that completely sidestep the whole problem, I'm just too cheap to go that way until I *have* to ;D
