Welcome!  Piece of advice...LOSE THE CAPS!
I have a 79 Big 10, and, when I removed the engine to put my 383 stroker in it, I took hundreds of pics w/ my digital camera.  I don't know what changes were made in the vacuum schematics from 79 to 86, but, you are welcome to pull up the site that I have the pics on www.delbridge.net/vacuum.html

Now, you should have a grey color decal under your hood, probably near the radiator support, showing the emissions schematics for your truck.  If not, get a chilton's manual or Haynes.  If you live near a salvage yard, go to it and take pics of old trucks...i love doing that and learn quite a bit.  I'd rather take someone else's truck apart than mine when seeing how things work and go together.

Hope this helps.

Well i have most of the lines hooked up, but there are a few off the carb that are capped, dont know where they go, i do need to know where the egr plugs into though, i do have a few plugs in front of the motor that have 4 vac lines coming off and another next to it that has i think 2 or 3 all capped off as well

If you have the diagram then just run the hose according to the diagram. The EGR should have a solenoid and a thermostatic vacuum switching valve connected to a ported vacuum source.
