Epoxy Paint Clogging Gun

Hey guys this is my first time painting and I have a HVLP 1.4mm tip gun and I'm using Eastwoods 1:1 Epoxy Primer Black. I loaded gun with 6oz primer and 6oz of catalyst and the gun clogs with over 4oz still left in gun with almost no down time from spraying. Should I lower the amount of catalyst or am I doing something wrong? Any advice would be great, btw I have gun broke down and all pieces sitting in paint thinner getting ready to clean.

Is the paint getting really thick?  What are the temps?  What does the working potlife on the product data sheet say?

Stir it real good and add a little medium reducer.

Looking up specs on the paint, like I should have prior, but it says with a HVLP 1.4-1.8mm tip to spray at 8-10psi. I've been spraying at 35psi, would that contribute to my problem or create another one I don't know about?

And if I add some reducer which it says I can cut up to %20, will paint match with what I've already done?

It should match, maybe smoother.  They say 8-10 which is the cap pressure.  Read your HVLP manual, it will tell you what pressure to set it to too achieve the 8-10 psi.  The first generation HVLP guns needed 90 psi to get 9 HVLP pressure.  Recent guns 29 psi gets you 10.  20% reducer will help a lot especially with the 1.4 tip.

Sounds like your air is making it dry faster cause you got it up to high,Like vile said throw a lil reducer in it and cut the air pressure down a bit.Cause now your going to reduce it and it wont cover as quickly but it will be fine once dry.

I cut it with reducer just under 20% and it worked good, except after spraying around 20oz when I ran out the separator was pretty clogged at bottom of tank. So I broke gun down after each time and it had some chunky paint in it as well. Was spraying at 35psi at compressor. Without the reducer the tip clogged after about 8-10oz.
